What is SL4 Portal?

SL4 Portal is my personal blog. I am Tux Winkler, an avatar in Second Life. I am for the most part a friendly and helpful person. I use this blog to sound off about anything really.

First off, to answer a few questions:

Q. What is the red ‘No Entry’ type image that flashes, it prevents clicking on the HUD’s?
A. This is to prevent direct snapshots of the HUD.  Although it is a basic idea most screen shots will not get a clear view of the HUD image (which is still unsure as to making the release yet).  Also the HUD’s will only function for me anyways – XD.

Q. I don’t think the movement is a good idea, what is its purpose?
A. The movement is solely for this test.  No HUD will move on your screens.

Q. Do the uses choose the colour of thei effects?
A. No the effects wil not be visible, or will be by designers choice.

Q. I want to beta test for you, how do I apply?
A. Email,IM, or notecard.  I need to know  what race and what genre you wish to test (eg. Human – Theif  (Robin Hood era) or Alien – Future Soldier (Preditor type)).

Q. How much will this cost to play?
A. We are still working out costs.  Currently we have 125L$ for non configurable HUD, 250L$ for full HUD.  There are loads of accessories which also need costing.  There is no decay cost.  So you will not die from inactivity.  Although Vampires and Were’s will become enraged if they have low wealth.

Ok, with some of the more common questions answered we can take a look at the data from the AI test.

Funny, it seems pretty well balanced considering it is totally random.  But for these ones, I have disabled wealth and have health regained back to 100.  I didn’t expect the kills to be so high.  I guess they gang up on each other more than I could have guessed!

So, now I have increased the load.  Doubled the speed.  And if this works I will add four more HUD’s.  I am yet to see any adverse effect on the sim!
