Wow, time runs away with me lately and before I notice I have missed loads. So I figured I would tell you whats been going on:
GRPS – Generic Role Play – As requested I have been rewriting to change the meters, within the game. At present the working of a random seed is to be included, for example: Your character is a street thug in a cyberpunk era. You go to mug someone. Would you get all their money? Not always, they may have hidden some in their sock. So the random seed factor creeps in. Also, the new version is trailing more server side calculations to prevent cheating. This will enable us to distribute weapons/addon scripts easier too. So unfortunately GRPS will stay in alpha, but I am allowing extra testers so those of you who applied for the beta will be bought on in alpha – YAY.
DISTURBED – Removed the big shop. Created a weapons shop and a photo studio. There is also a woodland and cave. Its crazy the number of times I change it, I know. But although a few people are not so happy at losing the clothing, I feel it isn’t justifying itself.
FLEXLIFE – Ok, here is the thing, LL release 3PVP statingthe viewer cannot have life in it. Great, thanks. So currently changes are being implemented to become a new name:
Luna
I actually think this is a good thing. A very dear person says ‘A change is as good as a move!’. So, despite the pain in the preverbial, rebranding goes on. Fred works his nuts off, and should slow down a little. But he wont – XD. Still excited about the new name and release. I am going to start on the Lua/Luna wiki. So finding out commands is as simple as using the wiki. The support ticket is going up too. As is the website. The features are massive with Lua. Watch the official blog (when its up fully):
So thats it, up to date. Sorry for missing so much. Here are a few of your questions answered:
Q. Hey dude, you been arrested or something?
A. Nope, still here =)
Q. The JLU got you banned?
A. Nope, still here =)
Q. Why no posts? Is something wrong?
A. Nope, still here =)
Q. Do you have an answer to the question?
A. 42.
This was one of those should I shouldn’t I moments. Anyways in the past when playing with a Linden I would find myself on the end of a ban – XD.
So as you can imagine, I had little time. I didn’t even get chance to hide the HUDS or UI. So apologies for the roughness, but worth it for the comedy factor.
This is a video version of the guide: [FlexLife] How-To: Change an Avatar’s Appearance using Lua by Fred Rookstown.
Ok, so I wanted to show the AV mod power of Lua in the latest FlexLife viewer for Second Life. So I wanted to go to a place where deserving people congregate and there is no perms (no build/no script). I know such a place, the mind numbing drama central that is Help Island Public (don’t get me wrong I have some good friends there – but it also attracts the over zealous ‘You can’t have a gun here’ types, then they use a weapons HUD on you – which has no effect in FlexLife BTW).
After browsing the potential victims assembled at the main hub, I decide on a very old friend from the days of Drazic (hugz Psymonkey!) the once tripped out little monkey avatar – Psymonkey Alter. My choice was simple, I knew he would see the funny side!
You will note I replaced the sound – OMG – you would all be asleep if not.
I continued to modify Psy using Lua, until I had this video. I hope you all enjoy it!
Having fixed my system I figured I would go play. So after a boring time on Help Island Public, I went to Quantum.
I know Darling Brody would be sitting there somewhere. and who better to play with (Sorry DB – No harm done).
Check out the following pictures that show the harnessed power of Lua in the next best viewer FlexLife! It is possible to manipulate any setting. Haha brilliant!
