Our sim: DISTURBED

Mar 042010

Wow, time runs away with me lately and before I notice I have missed loads.  So I figured I would tell you whats been going on:

GRPS – Generic Role Play – As requested I have been rewriting to change the meters, within the game.  At present the working of a random seed is to be included, for example:  Your character is a street thug in a cyberpunk era.  You go to mug someone.  Would you get all their money?  Not always, they may have hidden some in their sock.  So the random seed factor creeps in.  Also, the new version is trailing more server side calculations to prevent cheating.  This will enable us to distribute weapons/addon scripts easier too.  So unfortunately GRPS will stay in alpha, but I am allowing extra testers so those of you who applied for the beta will be bought on in alpha – YAY.

DISTURBED – Removed the big shop.  Created a weapons shop and a photo studio.  There is also a woodland and cave.  Its crazy the number of times I change it, I know.  But although a few people are not so happy at losing the clothing, I feel it isn’t justifying itself.

FLEXLIFE – Ok, here is the thing, LL release 3PVP statingthe viewer cannot have life in it.  Great, thanks.  So currently changes are being implemented to become a new name:

Luna

I actually think this is a good thing.  A very dear person says ‘A change is as good as a move!’.  So, despite the pain in the preverbial, rebranding goes on.  Fred works his nuts off, and should slow down a little.  But he wont – XD.  Still excited about the new name and release.  I am going to start on the Lua/Luna wiki.  So finding out commands is as simple as using the wiki.  The support ticket is going up too.  As is the website.  The features are massive with Lua.  Watch the official blog (when its up fully):

So thats it, up to date.  Sorry for missing so much.  Here are a few of your questions answered:

Q. Hey dude, you been arrested or something?
A. Nope, still here =)

Q. The JLU got you banned?
A. Nope, still here =)

Q. Why no posts?  Is something wrong?
A. Nope, still here =)

Q. Do you have an answer to the question?
A. 42.

So, having  completed testing for alleged sim crashing (2 sim crashes – both  Linden issues) by GRPS, I have  now put the shop back.  Selling the usual products (mens & womens clothing, weapons, Quantum Products etc).  I have also added an offsim 360 degree 5 panel TV – just hit play on your media buttons.

I couldn’t miss this photo opportunity!  Darling Brody (owner of Quantum Products ) in a pool of claret, complete with headstone and mocking Jawa!  Haha, today I didn’t die on Quantum!

Tired of having head in code, was I.  I figured I would play GRPS (Generic Role Play System) for a bit.

The last time I used this avatar I was blasted all over Quantum (take a look at my youtube video for proof).  I thought this time I would have an advantage, not only have I written the game but I have ‘GOD MODE’.   Hahahaha, so I didn’t get killed, yay!

Anyways, here is a screen shot which sends a message out on so many levels.  Also note I am using the FlexLife viewer with Lua which rocks!

I would like to thank the alt who is now permenantly banned for sending me a copy of the HUD texture I already own.  I have filed an abuse report and had you banned, I also happened to mention who I suspect.  There seems to be no end to this.

Seriously, if you are unable to create something for yourself, wait for its release.  I would even give you one free of charge if you are so desperate to have it.  (Unfortunately it would go black as you would be placed on the banned list – XD)

Thus I have replaced the HUD’s with simple arrows, which now have die code in.  Yes they die!  But not for long, a max of 10 seconds!  Also they are faster and there is now seven of them.  This new code also contains my anti script copy, which notifies the lindens if it detects copybot.  Or a permissions hack.

Anyways, the DISTURBED sim is coming along.  And hopefully will be up and running so I can shut down furfall soon!

Nov 282009

So the latest attempt to stop production of GRPS has shown its ugly head.  Last night a DOS (Denial Of  Service) was launched against one of my servers.  No major headache, a few simple changes has prevented damage and the website users will have only noticed a brief slow down.

To the person who instigated this:  Remember griefer, you only get what you can afford and sitting in your little wooden house in some backwards slum in North Carolina, I am guessing your funds are quite low.

There is a couple of things that have stopped working, but those affected have been notified and will have services restored as soon as possible.

As soon as I get to it, I will have everything setup on the DISTURBED sim and send out links as required.

Finally do not forget I have a 1000L$ prize to give away for the funniest conversation with ‘Disturbed Warden’ my receptionist bot!
